Corrosion Leakage Causes and Corresponding Countermeasures of Shift Gas Reboiler of Synthetic Ammonia Thermal Regeneration Tower

Abstract
By calculating the installation height of shift gas reboiler of a synthetic ammonia thermal regeneration tower, it was excluded that the possibility of methanol liquid in the shell side could not be returned to the thermal regeneration tower due to the insufficient installation height. Through the analysis of the equipment structure, it was found that the control of the liquid level of thermal regeneration tower was unreasonable, which caused the concentrations of Cl- and sulfide in shell side to increase continuously, which caused stress corrosion of heat exchange tube. Three solutions were proposed for this situation. Among them, by controlling liquid level of thermal regeneration tower at about 70%, and the corrosion leakage problem of transform gas reboiler of thermal regeneration tower could be effectively solved without changing equipment structure.
