Influence Factors of Corrosion and Scaling in Inner Cooling Water System of Converter Valve

    • Corrosion and scaling of the inner cooling water system in converter valve will cause blockage and water leakage in the water pipe, leading to failure of the converter valve. In order to study the influence of various factors on the corrosion and scaling of the internal cooling water system of the converter valve, a simulation test platform for the internal cooling water system of the converter valve was built. The effects of water circuit current, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and resin powder on corrosion of aluminum radiators and scaling of equalizing electrodes were analyzed. The results showed that the potential difference between the electrodes was the root cause of the scaling of the equalizing electrode. Electrical conductivity was a key factor influencing the corrosion of aluminum radiators. Too low electrical conductivity would aggravate the corrosion and scaling of system. In actual operation, the electrical conductivity should be controlled to be 0.070-0.110 μS/cm. If the conductivity was improperly controlled, high dissolved oxygen would aggravate the corrosion and scaling of the internal cooling water system.Ion exchange resin powder would not have a major impact on the corrosion and scaling of the internal cooling water system.
