    Erosion Characteristics of Pipeline in Shengli Offshore Oil Field

    • The cumulative production time of Shengli Offshore Oilfield has been as long as 26 years, and some platform production wells has entered the late stage of production, and sand production has been severe, which may shorten the life of oilfield pipelines and cause crude oil leakage accidents. The phenomenon of sand-bearing erosion in the conveying pipe connected to the platform was analyzed and discussed. Using CFD numerical analysis method, considering the interaction between oil, gas and water three-phase fluid and sand, the sand flow characteristics and the corrosion characteristics of the pipe wall under conditions of different conveyance and sand content of the pipeline were obtained. The results showed that sand accumulation mainly occurred in the outer area of the pipe elbow. The erosion rate increased with the increase of the infusion volume, and the erosion range also increased at the same time. Under the same infusion volume condition, the erosion rate increased with the increase of the sand content, but it had no obvious effect on the erosion range.
