Cathodic Protection Potential of X80 Steel in Simulated Soil Solution of Yichuan in Henan Province

Using the two methods of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cathodic polarization curve, the cathodic protection potential of X80 steel in the soil simulation solution of Yichuan, Henan along the "West-East Gas Pipeline" was studied, and the two results were compared. The results showed that these two methods could determine the cathodic protection limit potential, and the results were in good agreement.By fitting the curve of charge transfer resistance vs potential, the cathodic protection limit potential of X80 steel was -1 007~-753 mV; by fitting the cathodic polarization curve, the cathodic protection limit potential of X80 steel was -1 006~-753 mV.
