Abstract
Detailed field tests and experiments on a high-frequent leaking low-pressure gas pipe in a residential area were carried out. It was that the leakage was due to the electrical connection between the gas pipe and the building grounding grid, resulting in galvanic corrosion between buried gas pipe and grounding grid. Buried pipe acted as anode with a stable current flowing out from it and corrosion rate increased. According to the cause of the corrosion, Some protection suggestions were proposed.
