Numerical Simulation of Influence of Reinforced Concrete Foundation of Oil and Gas Station on Cathodic Protection Current Demand of Pipeline

    • The causes and countermeasures of the leakage and shielding effect of foundation steel bars in oil and gas stations were summarized, and the influence of reinforced concrete foundations, large equipment and building foundations on the demand for cathodic current and shielding effect of buried pipelines was studied by numerical simulation method. The results showed that the absorption of cathodic protection current by the reinforced concrete foundation decreased with the increase of the resistivity of the concrete foundation and the increase of the resistivity of the reinforced insulating layer. Disconnecting the lap of rebar to pipe or insulating the rebar surface was the most effective way to reduce current leakage and shielding effect.
