Mitigation Method for Interference of Regional Cathodic Protection of Station in Line Cathodic Protection

A new mitigation method for cathodic interference caused by regional cathodic protection in line cathodic protection was proposed. On the basis of determining the type of interference and the scope of interference, a potential control system was added to offset the cathodic electric field of regional cathodic protection. The method not only restored the line cathodic protection system to normal state without interference and made the potential of the disturbed pipe section reach the required cathodic protection potential, but also had no obvious negative effect on the regional cathodic protection system. The system had strong feasibility, could automatically adjust the output current according to the interference degree of regional cathodic protection. So it would have a good prospect of application and popularization.
