    Corrosion Resistance of S390 Weathering Steel for High Speed Rail Bogie in Simulated Industrial Atmospheric Environment

    • The corrosion behavior of S390 weathering steel and Q345B steel in simulated industrial atmospheric environment was studied by periodic infiltration corrosion test, electrochemical test, weight loss method, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD). The results showed that the corrosion rates of S390 weathering steel and Q345B steel decreased with the increase of corrosion time, and the mass loss rates of S390 weathering steel were 65%-70% of Q345B. The surface corrosion products of S390 weathering steel and Q345B steel were composed of Fe2O3, Fe3O4 and a small amount of α-FeO(OH). The content of α-FeO(OH) in the corrosion products on surface of S390 weathering steel was relatively high, and the corrosion product layer was relatively uniform and dense, and the thickness variation of the corrosion product layer in the length direction was relatively uniform. After different corrosion time, the free corrosion potential of S390 weathering steel was relatively high, indicating that its corrosion resistance was relatively good.
