Abstract
During the operation of a nitrogen injection booster in an oil well, the secondary exhaust pipeline and the air-cooling box secondary cooling tube bundle burst. By means of macroscopic observation, chemical composition analysis, metallographic examination, hardness test, infrared spectrum test, open flash point test and phase analysis, the causes of the burst were analyzed. The results showed that lubricant and carbon deposits were serious in the secondary, tertiary and quaternary booster pipelines, and the piston ring of compression rod in tertiary and quaternary compression cylinders was seriously worn, these increased the temperature and pressure in the system, accelerated the oxidation and decomposition of lubricating oil, and increased carbon deposit. The high temperature heat radiation of exhaust pipe further aggravated the oxidation of low flash point combustible material and smoldering of carbon deposits, which led to the explosion limit of CO content in the system, thus causing the burst of secondary exhaust pipeline and secondary cooling tube bundle of air-cooling box.
