Abstract
The corrosion failure reasons of a three-phase separator in an oilfield were analyzed through metallographic examination, chemical composition analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, bacterial culture, energy dispersive spectroscopy and simulated corrosion test. The results showed that oxygen corrosion occurred first in the inner wall of the three-phase separator below the water line, then the inner wall of the three-phase separator tank below the water line was rapidly corroded under the synergistic action of autocatalytic effect caused by blocked cell under scale layer and bacterial corrosion.
