Abstract
An electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) probe for in-situ measurement of hydrochloric acid dew point corrosion was designed. The probe had a simple structure and was able to use without a reference electrode or counter electrode. The accuracy of the probe to measure corrosion-related parameters was verified by comparing the test results of this probe and traditional three-electrode in hydrochloric acid solution at different pH values. Finally, the probe was used to in-suit measure hydrochloric acid dew point corrosion. The results showed compared with in-suit coupon weight-loss method, the probe could be used to not only rapidly monitor the dynamic change process of hydrochloric acid dew point corrosion, but also quickly obtain the instantaneous corrosion rate and other electrochemical parameters.
