    Applicability Evaluation of Typical Metal and Nonmetal Materials under Simulated Working Conditions of Water Source Well in Bohai Sea

    • Corrosion tests were carried out on N80 steel, 1Cr steel, 3Cr steel, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) under simulated typical working conditions of water source wells in an oilfield in Bohai Sea. The applicability of various metal and non metal materials under the working conditions was evaluated. The results showed that the corrosion rates of N80 steel and 1Cr steel were higher than that of 3Cr steel, but 3Cr steel had a certain tendency of pitting corrosion. The densities, hardnesses and tensile properties of HDPE and UHMWPE decreased to a certain extent with the prolongation of immersion corrosion time. UHMWPE with balanced plasticity and strength was relatively suitable for the conditions of water source well containing oxygen.
