    Comprehensive Properties of Dissimilar Material Bonded Structures with Aerospace Polysulfide Sealant

    • The tensile properties, peeling strength, mould resistance and corrosion resistance of the bonded structures of dissimilar materials with three aviation sealants were studied through four tests, including tensile test, peeling test, mould test and salt spray test. The aviation sealants with good comprehensive properties were optimized. The results showed that the bonded structure with HM109 sealant had good tensile properties. The bonded structure with PS870 sealant had high peeling strength. The bonded structures with three aviation sealants all had good mould resistance. And the bonded structures with PS870 and HM109 sealants had good corrosion resistance. In actual use, a certain sealant with a good property or with better comprehensive performance could also be selected according to the performance index requirements.
