Effect of Laser Scribing on Corrosion Resistance of High-Magnetic Induction Oriented Silicon Steel Plates

Abstract
The morphology and chemical composition of laser-notched high-magnetic induction oriented silicon steel surface were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). And the effect of laser scribing on the corrosion resistance of oriented silicon steel was investigated through copper sulfate drip test and accelerated corrosion test (including cyclic damp heat test and dynamic contact damp heat test). The results showed that laser scribing damaged the thickness uniformity and flatness of the coating on the surface of oriented silicon steel, exposing the substrate of oriented silicon steel and greatly reducing its corrosion resistance.
