Abstract
The interference of dynamic direct current (DC) stray current leads to continuous fluctuation of cathodic protection potential. Traditional potentiostat cannot adjust in real time according to pipeline protection potentials when it operates in "potentiostatic" mode, so the cathodic protection effect is not ideal. A novel digital control high-frequency switch potentiostat using off-potential as control potential in operation was introduced. Then it was tested in a running pipeline. The results showed that the novel potentiostat could control potentials accurately, adjust in real time and run smoothly under the interference of dynamic DC stray current in cooperation with off-potential measurement with soil tubes. As a result, the effect of cathodic protection was significantly improved.
