Research Progress in Interference of High-Voltage Direct Current on Buried Pipeline and Protective Measures

With the large-scale construction of oil and gas pipelines and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission projects in China, the problem of HVDC interference has attracted increasing attention. The current research status of HVDC grounding current interference on buried metal pipelines both at home and abroad on the aspects of corrosion mechanism, associated hazards, influencing factors, detection methods, evaluation standards and protective measures of HVDC interference were reviewed in this paper. Furthermore, the related research directions and prospects of HVDC interference were proposed.
