    Development and Properties of Cu Containing Anti-Bacterial Corrosion Pipeline Steel

    • High-strength anti-bacterial corrosion plates with Cu content of 0.9%, 1.4% and 1.8% were developed by ultra-low carbon, low manganese and microalloy element technology, and sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) corrosion tests were carried out on the plates. The results showed that with the increase of Cu content, the bacterial corrosion resistance of the plate increased, the SRB uniform corrosion rate decreased, and the SRB pitting depth also decreased. The anti-bacterial corrosion pipeline steel with a mass fraction of 1.4% Cu was selected. After aging heat treatment, a large amount of 30-50 nm spherical Cu-rich phase was precipitated. After aging heat treatment at 500 ℃ for 1 h, the Charpy impact results at - 20 ℃ was 184-220 J. Adjusting the aging heat treatment process could obtain the required mechanical properties of X80 steel grade antibacterial plate, and Cu-rich phase in Cu-containing pipeline steel after aging played a key role in the resistance to bacterial corrosion.
