Abstract
The polarization characteristics of storage tank for high temperature and high salt water were studied by electrochemical testing, and the rules of corrosion current and cathodic protection current density were obtained. The design of auxiliary anodes in the impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system was optimized. The cathodic protection potential distributions in the storage tank with different anode protection schemes were calculated by numerical simulation, and the optimal scheme was finally determined. The results showed that when the diameter of the water storage tank was 15.25 m, the optimal number of auxiliary anodes was 8, and the covering angle of each anode was 45°. At the same time, with the increase of the anode length, the potential uniformity was improved. With the increase of the size of the water storage tank, the demand for protection current increased.
