Evaluation and Its Application of Pipeline Corrosion Status Based on CART-Entropy Weight Method

    • Pipeline corrosion state evaluation is an important part of pipeline integrity management. In order to assess the corrosion state of the pipeline, according to the corrosion characteristics of long-distance pipeline, the two rounds of internal inspection datas were used to calculate the local corrosion rate of the pipeline. Based on the local corrosion rate, using classification and regression tree (CART) to divide the pipeline into a number of units, and the entropy weight method was used to establish the corrosion state assessment model. And combined with engineering examples, the relative level of pipeline corrosion status was analyzed. The results showed that the average estimated repair factor (ERF) had the greatest influence on the corrosion status of the pipeline, and the model identified the most seriously corroded pipe sections were 44, 38, 45 and 37 units, which facilitated the owner to carry out key monitoring and maintenance of these pipe sections. The corrosion state assessment model based on CART-entropy weight method could be well used for pipeline corrosion state assessment work, and provided a scientific and reasonable basis for the owner to develop inspection and maintenance strategies.
