Abstract
The causes of J55 tubing corrosion perforation in a production well in an oilfield were analyzed by means of macro-morphology observation, chemical composition analysis, water quality analysis, corrosion product analysis and simulated corrosion test. The results showed that there was CO2 corrosion in the production well, and the perforation of the tubing originated from the pitting pit induced by the non-metallic inclusions on the outer wall of the tubing. The high concentration Cl- environment in the well further promoted the growth of pitting corrosion, and finally caused the pitting perforation of the tubing.
