Abstract
The corrosion behavior of red copper exposed to atmospheric environment in Chengdu, Yajiang and Litang for one year was studied by means of macroscopic and microscopic corrosion morphology observation, weight loss method, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and electrochemical test. The results showed that the corrosion degree of copper in Chengdu, Yajiang and Litang atmospheric environment decreased in turn. The corrosion products generated after exposure to atmospheric environment for one year were all Cu2O. The Cu2O content generated on copper samples was the highest in Chengdu, the second in Yajiang, and the lowest in Litang.
