Corrosion Effect of Atmospheric Aerosol on Aluminum Alloy Parts of K8E Aircraft

    • The concept of atmospheric aerosol and its corrosion was briefly introduced. By analyzing the atmospheric data of the K8E aircraft service area, the main source and composition of the atmospheric aerosol in the area was determined. The corrosion effects of atmospheric aerosol components on K8E aircraft aluminum alloy parts were analyzed. The results showed that at the initial stage of corrosion, the dissolution of Cl- and H+ destroyed the oxide film on the surface of aluminum alloy. The aerosol formed droplets in the condensing environment, and the droplets were on the surface. An electrochemical cell was formed in a local area, which initiated and accelerated the aerosol corrosion of the aluminum alloy, generated corrosion products, and even caused macroscopic damage such as stress corrosion cracking and exfoliation.
