Internal Corrosion Risk Assessment for a Liquid Petroleum Offshore Pipeline

Abstract
For pipelines that cannot undergo intelligent internal detection, it is urgent to understand their corrosion status through scientific internal corrosion risk assessment, in order to meet the requirements of pipeline integrity management. Through direct evaluation of internal corrosion and indoor simulation experiments, the corrosion risk of the target submarine pipeline was evaluated to reasonably evaluate the reliability of pipeline service, and to reasonably arrange the priority order of subsequent underwater testing and other inspection resources. The evaluation results indicated that the submarine pipeline had internal corrosion, but its strength had not been significantly affected. It could continue to maintain normal production and operation under current conditions.
