Material Selection for Gathering Pipeline in Oil and Gas Field Surface

Abstract
The structural characteristics, size boundary, connection form and application scenario restriction of several common oil and gas field surface gathering pipeline materials, such as carbon steel, low alloy steel, bimetallic composite pipe, polyethylene pipe, steel skeleton reinforced polyethylene composite pipe and flexible high-pressure composite pipe are intrudoced. The material selection principle of surface gathering and transportation pipeline of oil and gas field is given. The prediction of pipeline corrosion degree is introduced in detail from standard, corrosion model analysis and indoor simulation evaluation test. According to the applicable scope of pipes and the material selection principle of surface gathering pipeline, the selection of pipe material under four typical working conditions, including conventional working conditions, working conditions containing carbon dioxide, working conditions containing hydrogen sulfide and working conditions containing carbon dioxide/hydrogen sulfide, is recommended.
