Measurement and Assessment of Protective Effect of Segmented Insulation Measure Against HVDC Interference

    • When the high voltage direct current (HVDC) ground electrode around a gas pipeline discharges, the interference on the pipeline is serious. Segmented insulation was adopted to protect the pipeline from interference, and the monitored data of pipeline potentials before and after the practice of segmented insulation measure were conducted statistical analysis to evaluate the protective effect of the segmented insulation measure. The results show that the protective measure could significantly alleviate the interference degree of the remote pipeline, shorten the length of interfered pipeline, and the corrosion risk was concentrated on the pipeline closest to ground electrode and both sides of the insulation joint.
