Research Progress on Corrosion and Protection of Oil and Gas Pipelines

In view to the increasingly serious corrosion problem of oil and gas pipelines, the types of pipeline corrosion and influencing factors for both internal and external corrosion are systematically reviewed. Corresponding protective measures are proposed for internal and external corrosion respectively, while existing testing technologies are employed to strengthen pipeline integrity monitoring, thereby minimizing corrosion-induced failures. Finally, future research directions are outlined based on current protection measures.
