Pigging Process Law of Gathering and Transmission Pipeline in a Gas Field

    • In hilly terrain gas pipelines, the analysis of liquid accumulation, identification of pigging risk locations, and precise control of pig speed are crucial for the smooth execution of pigging operations. Currently, the pigging operations in a certain gas field gathering pipeline primarily rely on empirical judgments to assess pig movement, making it difficult to accurately analyze pigging patterns. To address this, based on actual field pigging data, an optimal gas-liquid two-phase flow model suitable for the gas field gathering pipeline was selected, and an olga simulation model was established to systematically analyze the distribution patterns of liquid accumulation in the pipeline. By optimizing pig speed and controling gas volume, high-risk pipeline sections prone to liquid accumulation and blockages were predicted, leading to proposed improvements for batch pigging operations.
