Abstract
The copper based self-lubricating composite (C13W) was prepared by spark plasma sintering method. Friction and wear tests were conducted in seawater and air on the C13W, and aluminum bronze (AlCu) was used as contrast material. The corrosion and wear resistance of copper based self-lubricating composite in seawater was analyzed in comparison with aluminum bronze through corrosion and wear morphology, friction coefficient and wear rate. The results show that the corrosion resistance of copper based self-lubricating composite in seawater was better than that in air. The friction coefficient and wear rate of the C13W were superior to aluminum bronze. So the C13W is more suitable for application in marine environment.
