Preparation of Modified LDH and Its Effect on Corrosion Behavior of Steel Bar in Mortar

    • A type of modified layered double hydroxide was prepared by intercalating into Zn-Al-LDHs and characterized by means of microscopic testing techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Then, the was added into cement mortar to investigate the effects of its content on the fluidity, water absorption, mechanical properties, pore structure, chloride diffusion coefficient, and corrosion resistance of the mortar. The test results show that improved the water absorption, mechanical properties, porosity and resistance to chloride ion penetration of the cement mortar to varying degrees, with the most significant enhancement observed in the mortar containing 3.0% (mass percentage in cement) . When the content of was less than 3.0%, the fluidity of mortar was improved. adsorbed Cl- through interlayer ion exchange, accompanied by the release of interlayer during the adsorption of Cl-. effectively delayed the corrosion of steel bars in the cement mortar, and within a certain range, the more the was added, the better the corrosion resistance of bars was.
