CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF STAINLESS STEEL 304 AS WATER SUPPLY MATERIAL IN WATER CONTAINING CHLORIDE

Corrosion behaviour of stainless steel 304 in the solutions with different concentrations of NaCl was investigated by immersion test,polarization curve and EIS measurements.The obvious concentration of NaCl resulting in pitting corrosion was 0.4%,and pitting corrosion was aggravated with the increase of Cl- concentration and temperature.The EIS results showed that the destruction of passive film was greater when concentration of NaCl was larger than 0.4%.
