Abstract
Weight-loss method and electrochemical method were used to analyze the inhibition efficiency of an imidazolin inhibitor in a simulated oil field environment. The results show that the inhibitor is a multi-control type, while the anodic control is the main reason. The inhibitor had a corrosion inhibiting efficiency of 97.6% with an economical concentration about 200 mg·L-1. The EIS results show that there were three time constants in the solutions without inhibitor. With the increase of the inhibitor concentration, the inhibition efficiency increased and the inhibition coverage rate also increased. There were two time constants in high inhibition concentration, corres ponding to the capacitance arc in high and low frequency regions.
