Experimental Study on Removal Efficiency Factors of Water-based Paint Stripper

    • Based on benzyl alcohol water-based paint stripper, the influence of the types and dosage of accelerator and surfactant, stripping temperature, mixing state on removal efficiency were investigated. The results show that the removal efficiency of the paint stripper can be improved obviously when the amount of formic acid is 10%(mass fraction)and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTMAB) is 2%. Stripping rate achieved the fastest when the temperature was 60 ℃, and the stripping rate did not change significantly when temperature raised. Changes in mixing state had little effect on the removal efficiency. Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray spectroscopy analysis showed that the paint stripper has little corrosivity on tinplates.
