Abstract
Electrochemical methods were used to study the cathodic reaction characteristic of 2205 duplex stainless steel in brine at different temperatures. The results showed that temperature had an obvious effect on limiting current density which increased initially and decreased latter as the temperature raised, the maximum limiting current density of 12.3 μA/cm2 was attained at temperature of 76 ℃. Brine of high salinity at high temperatures had the ability to attack 2205 duplex stainless steel with the potential below the Ecorr.
