Review on the Development and Prospect of Surface Protection Technology for Oil Casing Tubes

The research status of surface protection technology for oil casing tubes is reviewed.An introduction about corrosion characters,corrosion modes and requrements to oil casing tubes during the oil (gas) field exploitation is given.Features and applications of several surface treatment processes for surface protection of oil casing tubes such as surface coating/painting,laser surface peening and surface alloying are analyzed.Thermal cementation technology is proposed to prepare Ni-based alloy coatings on oil casing tube surface in order to meet the formidable performance conditions.The prospect about new ideas and methods for oil casing tube surface protection is presented.
