Measurement and Reduction of Stray Current on Buried Steel Pipeline

Stray current caused by traction and power systems has caused serious corrosion risk to buried steel pipelines. This article describes sources and harmful effect of stray current, measurement ways to identify stray current and to locate stray current, reduction ways of stray current interference, and gives two examples to explain the whole process about identification, measurement and reduction of stray current on buried steel pipelines. The article can provide a reference for stray current control project.
