Corrosion Inhibition of Cinnamomum Camphora Seed Extract Compounded with Quaternary Ammonium Salts

    • The inhibition of cinnamomum camphora seed extract (CCSE) compounded with quaternary ammonium salts, AOBAB or DMMPAB, was studied by methods of weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impendance spectroscopy (EIS). The maximum inhibition efficiency was up to 98.31% when CCSE was compounded with AOBAB of a concentration of 0.001 mol/L and 98.65% when CCSE was compounded with DMMPAB of a concentration of 0.001 mol/L at 25 ℃. The results of electrochemical methods and weight loss method were basically the same. The results showed that the inhibition efficiency increased after CCSE were compounded with quaternary ammonium salts, and it increased as the concentration of CCSE went up.
