Abstract
The corrosion behaviors of Q235 steel in simulated soil were studied by means of weight loss method, polarization curve method, electrochemical noise, and inductance method. The advantages and disadvantages of the various methods were compared. The results show that the corrosion rate measured by the method of electrochemical noise was close to that obtained by weight loss method. The electrochemical noise method is good for in situ nondestructive testing, the data is credible. This method has greater advantages in studying soil corrosion and thus can be used in analyzing the corrosion mechanism and the corrosion characteristics.
