Preparation and Characterization of Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Nanofilms with Colloidal Silica

Abstract
Organic-inorganic hybrid films were prepared by sol-gel process,using methyltriethoxysilane(MTEOS) and tetraethoxysilane(TEOS) as precursors.With the addition of colloidal silica nanoparticles,the preparation and characterization of the hybrid films were improved.The prepared hybrid nanofilms were dense,uniform and defect-free.The critical thickness of the hybrid nanofilms was increased with the addition of the colloidal silica.The relationship between structure and temperature was investigated by DTA/TG and FTIR.The corrosion resistance performance of the hybrid nanofilms applied on stainless steel was tested.The nanofilms showed high heat stability and excellent corrosion resistant properties.So the new nanofilms can provide long-term and environmentally corrosion protection.
