COMPARISON OF ELECTROCHEMICAL BEHAVIORS OF AZ31 AND AZ61 MAGNESIUM ALLOYS IN MgSO4 SOLUTION

    • The electrochemical behaviors of AZ31 and AZ61 magnesium alloys in MgSO4 solution were investigated by weight-loss,linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and chronopotentiometry (CP).The results of LSV show that the polarization resistance of AZ61 was larger than the value of AZ31,which indicated AZ61 had smaller corrosion rate, this was consistent with the results from weight-loss method. The results of LSV also indicated that AZ31 was more active than AZ61,but in discharging, the electrode potential of AZ61 was more negative and stable, the anodic efficiency was larger than AZ31,which meant AZ61 was more excellent as anodic material of battery.
