    Numerical Simulation and Construction of Cathodic Protection for Crude Oil Tank's Inner Bottom Plate

    • Numerical simulation technique based on boundary element method was applied to studying the validity of sacrificial anode cathodic protection for a crude oil storage tank′s inner bottom plate. According to the results of simulation, the design of cathodic protection was optimized. Installation of sacrificial anodes on a crude oil tank′s bottom was carried out following the optimized design methodology. Inspection data show that the sacrificial anodes protected the bottom plate of the crude oil tank from corrosion effectively.
