Abstract
The effects of cathodic polarization on the stress corrosion behavior of HRB335 reinforcing steel bar in simulated concrete pore solution were studied by slow strain rate test (SSRT) and cathodic polarization. The results show that when the polarization potential was between -475 mVCSE and -850 mVCSE, the steel bar exhibited certain stress corrosion sensitivity. And when the polarization potential was below -1 200 mVCSE, hydrogen induced stress cracking occured. For effective cathodic protection in reinforced concrete system, a polarization potential criterion between -1 000 mVCSE and -1 100 mVCSE is recommended.
