Effect of Surface Shot Peening on Corrosion Properties of Alloy 800

    • The uniform corrosion performance of alloy 800 tube with and without surface shot peening was investigated by static autoclave device with 1 200 mg·L-1 boron and 2 mg·L-1 lithium at 315 ℃ in simulated pressured water reactor (PWR) primary water enrironments. The results showed that after 3 000 h, part of the specimen surface oxide was dissolved in the water, the remaining portion attached to the surface of the substrate forming oxide film. After shot peening, the uniform corrosion weight loss rate of alloy 800 tube increased, and the possibility of pitting corrosion and intergranular corrosion also increased.
