Corrosion Resistance of Two Types of Cold-rolled Steel Sheet

Abstract
Corrosion resistance properties of two different types of ultra-low-carbon and low strength steel A and high strength steel B were compared by methods of industrial atmosphere exposure, electro-chemical analysis, AES and GDS(glow discharge spectrometry) analysis, and the rusting mechanism was also discussed. Results showed that the surface corrosion resistance of low strength steel A was superior to that of high strength steel B under the same test conditions. The aggregation of Mn element in high strength steel B surface was much higher than that in low strength steel A. Many tiny particles in the form of Mn oxide distributed in the surface of high strength steel B.
