    Application of an Anti-freezing Reference Electrode to Cathodic Protection System in Permafrost Evironment

    • A new type of anti-freezing Cu/CuSO4 reference electrode was applied to cathodic protection system to overcome the problem that the common reference electrodes (purity Zn and Cu/CuSO4 reference electrode) failed to hold stable potentials in low-temperature environments. The experimental and field data showed that the anti-freezing reference electrode exhibited excellent advantages of stable potentials, reasonable structure, easy to use in low temperature environments in comparison with common reference electrodes.
