Measurement Results of Cathodic Protection OFF-potential Data for Zhongwu Pipeline

  • GPS satellite synchronous interrupt technique was employed to measure the OFF-potential of cathodic protection system of Zhongwu pipeline. The data was analyzed in detail, the effectiveness of pipeline cathodic protection system was evaluated and some suggestions for improvement were presented. The results showed that three-layer PE pipeline was easy to over-protected and susceptible to interference compared to epoxy pipeline. Potential was the main index of pipeline status. The ON-potentials showed uniform distribution, while OFF-potentials were irregular.
