Inhibition Effect of Room Temperature Vulcanized Silicone Rubber on Crevice Corrosion of Carbon Steel Electrode
The junction of working face and epoxy was coated with a layer of room temperature vulanized(RTV) silicone rubber. The electrochemical behaviors of the treated and un-treated carbon steel electrodes were studied. The results showed that the treatment could prevent the electrode from crevice corrosion effectively. The mechanism was discussed.
