Effect of Rare Earth La on Microstructure and Corrosion Resistance of Common Cold Rolled Steel

The effect of rare earth La on microstructure and corrosion resistance of common cold rolled steel (SPCC) was studied by means of metallographic microstructure observation, periodically soaking tests and electrochemical tests. The results showed that the microstructure of SPCC steel was refined and homogenized by the addition of rare earth La. The propriate addition of rare earth La could increase the corrosion resistance of SPCC steel effectively.
