Abstract
Cracking often occurs on the surface of chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber roller immersed in the chromeplating solution for a long time. In order to study the influencing factors and formation mechanism, some tests were conducted with the help of the homemade static-dynamic device, and the cracks were analyzed by the methods of micro and macro inspection. The results showed that the failure of rubber roller was due to the combined action of stress corrosion and fatigue. The temperature and concentration of chromeplating solution, rotation speed and load factors have effects to different degree on the surface cracking.
