Abstract
A solid-state Ag/AgX reference electrode was prepared by powder press method. Effects of seawater temperature,pH and constant current polarization on the potential of the Ag/AgX reference electrode were studied. The results showed that the preparation process of the electrode was facile, the electrode owned a relatively low temperature factor near 0.3 mV/℃,little influence of pH value and fairly depolarization properties against constant current. Thus the solid-state Ag/AgX reference electrode was an ideal reference electrode used for the potential monitoring or inspection in cathodic protection engineering in the marine environment.
