Adsorption and Corrosion Inhibition of Gemini Surfactants and Imidazoline on Cr13 Steel in H2S/CO2 Saturated Medium

Abstract
Adsorption and corrosion inhibition of Gemini surfactants 12-6-12, and 16-2-16 as well as imidazoline on Cr13 steel in saturated H2S/CO2 medium at 50 ℃ were studied by weight loss method, electrochemical polarization curves and EIS. The results showed that the three kinds of surfactants were excellent inhibitors for Cr13 steel in saturated H2S/CO2 medium. The corrosion inhibition of Gemini surfactants were better than that of imidazoline, and their inhibition effect reached 85%. The adsorption of three kinds of surfactants on the steel surface followed Langmiur isothermal adsorption equation. The sequence of corrosion inhibition on Cr13 steel was 12-6-12 typed Gemini surfactant > 16-2-16 typed Gemini surfactant > imidazoline.
